Local name Mamunman (Sansundi). Range A. h. misoriensis Biak, Supiori; A. h. leucosomus Numfor, Yapen. Status Endemic subspecies. Obtained by four collectors including Ripley. Since KDB’s first visit in July 1982 the species has been observed widely in southern Biak by most observers. Characteristically, it is seen singly, either soaring over degraded forest or primary forest edge, or perched quietly in the midstorey.
