Privacy
Your birding records are private by default.
What we store
Your account email, the sightings you record, the photos you upload, the places and trips you create, and anything you write in your journal. That is the product — we do not collect data beyond what your records need.
Private by default
Your journal, life list, photos and places are visible only to you unless you choose to share them. Sharing is per item and reversible: you can make an entry private again at any time, and the public page updates immediately.
Location and sensitive species
Exact coordinates are never shown publicly. Shared pages display a general area rather than a pin. Sightings of sensitive or at-risk species are protected further, and you can mark any individual sighting or place as private.
Photos
Photos you upload are stored privately and served through expiring links. Only you can see them unless the sighting or entry they belong to is public.
Identification
When you use photo identification, the photo is sent to an identification service to return candidate species. Results are suggestions only — nothing is added to your life list until you confirm it.
Your data is yours
You can edit or delete any record at any time. Deleting your account removes your records and photos from our systems. We do not sell your data and we do not use your birding records for advertising.
