Most birding tools are built around a single moment: what is that bird? That moment matters, but it passes. What stays with birders is everything around it — the cold morning, the place, the person you were with, the first time you ever saw the species.

Feather Journal exists for that part. You record a sighting, and it becomes part of a growing record of your birding life: a life list that builds itself, a dated journal, a photo archive, a map of the places you return to, and trips you can look back on years later.

Identification is included, and it helps — photograph a bird and you get likely species with alternatives. But it is a tool inside the journal, not the product. You always confirm what you actually saw, and you can record a bird you never managed to name.

We are deliberately not building a social network. There are no feeds, no follower counts, no leaderboards. You get one beautiful public page you can share if you want to — and everything else stays yours, including precise locations and sensitive species, which are protected by default.

Your records should outlive any app. Feather Journal is designed so your sightings, photos and notes remain complete, exportable and meaningful for as long as you keep birding.
