Type-locality: Serra dos Órgãos National Park in Petrópolis, in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (22 ° 27 ′ 49 ″ S, 43 ° 05 ′ 14.09 ″ W). Type-material: The oocysts were preserved in 70 % ethanol, based on Duszynski and Gardner (1991).
