Species profile

Dacnis modesta

Dacnis modesta

Quick answer

Type series: Cabanis (1873 a: 64) explicitly based this species on a single female, which is thus its holotype (see also Taczanowski 1875: 510). The specimen is deposited in the MIZ (Sztolcman & Domaniewski 1927: 179, Mlíkovský 2009 b), although Taczanowski (1889) omitted it from the list of type specimens housed in the MIZ. Holotype: MIZ 34287 (P. 2582), Ƥ, collected by Jelski on 29 October 1870 at " Monterico " [= Monterrico, Peru]. Type locality: " Monterico " (Cabanis 1873 a: 64), i. e. Monterrico, Peru [12.05 ° S, 74.10 ° W].
